Congratulations to Rachael Hurwitz, winner of  " The Storm Within LLC's Film Composer Competition!
Rachael will receive $500 and an exclusive contract for $3000 to compose the music that will be featured in The Storm Within.    From October 1st thru October 25th, 2011, music lovers voted here for the winner.  Almost 3000 votes were cast and Rachael received 39%  of them.

The Storm Within LLC thanks everyone who entered and voted.  Rachael's bio and winning composition are below.   

Rachael Hurwitz - "Finding the Calm"
Rachael Hurwitz (North Haven, Connecticut) has been composing music since age thirteen. Rachael recently graduated from Connecticut College, where she composed many original pieces for piano, guitar and piano quartets.  “I majored in Economics and Hispanic studies, but I always knew that music was my true passion.” says Hurwitz.  
 “Finding the Calm”, is a piece on piano with subtle usage of guitar and harp.  It is meant to evoke a feeling of loneliness and despair at first, but then a feeling of peace is reached. The piece returns to the original riff in the beginning, which evokes a feeling of despair, in order to show how life will always give us “storms” that we must get through.  “I would like to thank my family and friends for their unwavering support, and I would also like to thank Vera Brooks for this wonderful opportunity.” She said.
